The purpose of the after school program is to give children in the community the chance to explore new areas of interest, get help with areas they struggle with, and to have some fun while acquiring new knowledge and skills. The pupil’s who will be attending this after school programme range from class 1 (age5-6) to standard 8 (age 17), but volunteers are welcome to invite specific classes that would be more appropriate for the intended lessons.
Volunteers will be involved in lesson planning and develop educational activities or games for the students to make classes educational, fun and interesting. Volunteers have the choice to teach basic subjects such as English and Math. However volunteer could also teach other subjects such as sports, health and nutrition, drama, arts, Geography, French, Environmental awareness and many more depending on your interest and this would benefit the students as they would learn new things. The size of the classes can be adjusted by dividing the students into groups based on levels to allow volunteers to conduct the classes more effectively.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD
Volunteers will stay in tents from to the last day and last day of the project. They will prepare and share meals together. Besides they need to carry a sleeping mat, bag and mosquito net.
Most of our free time will be spent sharing Maasai culture and friendship with local community members and the other volunteers on the project. There will be an opportunity to visit the Game Reserve this is a beautiful park, teeming with elephants, lions, wild beast and zebra among others.
300 EURO which includes project work, housing, all Meals, transport from the airport and to the project site, and 24 hours on side staff support.
